Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Ruply ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Description of Service

Ruply is a personal expense tracking application that helps you:

- Track daily expenses and manage budgets

- Split bills with friends and groups

- Import bank statements and scan receipts

- View AI-generated spending insights and summaries

- Make UPI payment requests and QR-based payments (via third-party UPI apps)

Ruply is a personal finance management tool. It is not a financial advisor, bank, payment processor, or licensed financial institution.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Ruply. By using the app, you represent that you meet this requirement.

User Accounts

4.1 Sign in with Apple

Ruply uses Sign in with Apple for user identification. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID.

4.2 Data Ownership

You own all data you enter into Ruply. We do not claim any ownership or license over your personal financial data.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

- Use the app for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws

- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app

- Use AI features to process data belonging to others without their consent

- Attempt to circumvent security measures or exploit vulnerabilities in the app or its services

- Use the app to launder money, evade taxes, or engage in financial fraud

AI-Powered Features

6.1 Consent Required

AI features require your explicit consent before activation. You can enable or disable AI processing at any time in Settings.

6.2 Accuracy Disclaimer

AI-generated content (expense parsing, receipt scanning, bank statement import, Money Story summaries, chat responses) is provided on a **best-effort basis**. AI outputs may contain errors, inaccuracies, or hallucinations. You are responsible for:

- Verifying all AI-parsed expense amounts and categories before saving

- Reviewing bank statement import results for accuracy

- Not relying solely on AI summaries for financial decisions

6.3 Third-Party AI Service

I features are powered by Anthropic's Claude API. Your use of these features is also subject to [Anthropic's Usage Policy](https://www.anthropic.com/policies/usage-policy) and [Acceptable Use Policy](https://www.anthropic.com/policies/aup).

UPI Payments

7.1 Third-Party Payment Processing

Ruply does not process payments. UPI payments are initiated by deep-linking to UPI apps installed on your device. The actual payment transaction is handled entirely by the third-party UPI app and the underlying banking infrastructure.

7.2 No Liability for Payments

Ruply is not responsible for:

- Failed, incorrect, or duplicate UPI transactions

- Errors in UPI IDs stored or entered by users

- Any financial loss arising from UPI payment interactions

- Payment disputes — these should be resolved with your bank or UPI provider

7.3 Settlement Tracking Only

The "Settle Up" feature records that a settlement has occurred. It does not verify, guarantee, or enforce actual payment completion. Users are responsible for confirming that payments have been sent and received.

Data and Privacy

Your use of Ruply is also governed by our [Privacy Policy](https://mbdesignwork.com/ruply-privacy). Key points:

- Data is stored on your device and in your iCloud account

- No server-side databases or user tracking

- AI data processing requires explicit consent

- We do not sell or share your data with third parties

iCloud Sync

Ruply uses Apple's CloudKit for data synchronization across your devices. This feature:

- Requires an active iCloud account

- Is subject to Apple's iCloud Terms of Service

- May be affected by iCloud storage limits, network conditions, or Apple service availability

- We are not responsible for data loss or sync issues caused by iCloud

Intellectual Property

10.1 App Ownership

Ruply, including its design, code, graphics, and user interface, is the intellectual property of Mehul Bhargava. All rights reserved.

10.2 User Content

You retain ownership of all personal data and content you enter into Ruply. By using AI features, you grant us a limited, temporary license to transmit your data to our AI service provider solely for the purpose of processing your request.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Ruply is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

- Accuracy of expense tracking, budget calculations, or AI-generated insights

- Uninterrupted or error-free operation

- Fitness for a particular purpose

- Accuracy of bank statement parsing or receipt scanning

Ruply is not a substitute for professional financial advice. Consult a qualified financial advisor for financial planning decisions.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

- We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages

- We shall not be liable for any loss of data, profits, or business opportunities

- Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app (if any)

- We are not liable for any financial decisions made based on data or insights provided by the app

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

- Your use or misuse of the app

- Your violation of these Terms

- Any disputes between you and other users regarding split expenses or settlements

Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to:

- Modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the app at any time

- Update these Terms — changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date

- Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of updated Terms

Termination

We reserve the right to restrict access to the app or its AI features if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi, India.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
